| Major Position Roles and Responsibilities: Support NPI program managers in executing manufacturing strategy to successfully implement new product platforms, develop new manufacturing processes, and support needs of RS as it relates to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, productivity, capacity, and facility planning. Role will require interaction with manufacturing, engineering, and other support functions in all RS sites.
Job Responsibilities: -Actively search for new manufacturing technologies and aggressively evaluate and report on all manufacturing opportunities that will contribute to company¡¦s objectives and goals. Process technologies to include but not limited to welding, soldering, brazing, metal stamping/fabrication, packaging, assembly, tube fabrication, metal preparation, and application of chemical processes. -Prepare, implement and integrate complex and long range facility plans based on the forecasted needs of the business. -Cooperate and participate in product design activities to assure optimum utilization of new manufacturing technologies, producibility and costs. -Prepare plant layouts and determine material handling systems related to the needs of the business. -Assist in the preparation or prepare investment and expense budgets for addition, modification, replacement or disposal of facilities/equipment or process related projects. -Specify and select new capital equipment; oversee its installation, start-up, and sound operations, including tooling and processes. Processes and new equipment will be certified following the MPC process. Stay abreast of latest technology devices in equipment. -Project assignments could potentially require 25-30% travel with some travel being outside North America.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies
Qualifications: -BS engineering degree or equivalent experience -Proven experience with handling multiple complex projects simultaneously -Expertise in compliance with OSHA, environmental, & electrical standards -Good verbal and written communication skills -Ability to work in a team environment -Good planning and organization/work management skills -Results oriented/self-starter -Familiarity with AutoCad and PC based programs (Windows, Excel, Word) -Aptitude for mechanical/electrical application as related to equipment/processes -Problem assessment and problem solving skills -Familiarity with 6 Sigma tools and other analytical procedures
